Journey of Life

Well, I was inspired again to post! Can't believe it has been since April since I last checked out this site...and here I missed some wonderful communique from my cousins on the Davis side of the family. Hi to you all...so sorry for the lateness of my hello!

So much to share in the journey of life in the past 6 months. Sandon and Laura were married. Sandon cried like a baby! See the pictures posted here. What a beautiful couple...so happy. They went to Cancun for their honeymoon and then came back and settled in their new home (that closed escrow the day before the wedding!) which is less than 5 minutes from home...yeah!

Sandon is teaching at Biola University in La Mirada, CA and also teaches at Santa Ana College. Laura is an interpreter for the deaf at Cal State University Fullerton, where Sandon is working on his masters in American Studies.

All is well with the girls. Janelle is still out on her own with girl friends while she is working and going to college. Jena moved back home a couple of weeks ago needed to catch up on some bills (came home with a grateful heart and a deeper understanding of the value of her parents!) and since the girls are twins and have been together since birth, she needed some time to gain her own identity apart from her sister. This is a good thing!

My next blog will be about my recent trip to Africa...will post my heart and my journal entries of my time in Gulu, Uganda.

Empty Nest

This is my first time "blogging". Not sure what that word means :) Sounds funny! But I love the idea of sharing thoughts, ideas, pictures....life. So here goes...

Scott & I have been married 24 years! We have three children, Sandon (22), Jena' (20) and Janelle (20). Scott and I are currently empty-nesters (2 weeks now). I can't believe after 20+ years of having children that now it is quiet and calm. I am home now from a busy day of training with a non-profit in Fullerton and sit here in an empty and quiet house. Peace. I can hear the birds in the back yard. There is no music blaring! The TV is off! There are no arguments to referee! There are no "friends" of the kids walking through my house and checking out my refrigerator for food and drinks! And lo and behold the house is just the way that I left it this morning! No clothes or towels left lying around on the bathroom floor.

And yet a little part of my heart is screaming, "It is too quiet!" (Just a little part of my heart)
